Pyrus calleryana Capital is one of the most popular upright ornamental pears, valued for its narrow fastigiate habit and clean vertical lines. Shiny dark green leaves create a dense, structured canopy, turning shades of reddish purple in autumn for strong seasonal contrast. In spring, branches are covered in masses of white, cup shaped blossoms, adding brightness and pollinator interest. Reaching around 11 metres high and just 3 metres wide, Capital is ideal for tight urban spaces, driveways, boundary planting, and architectural screening.
