Searles Economy Lawn Seed can be sown most times of the year, with best results achieved in autumn or spring. Germination may be slower during extreme heat or cold.

Prepare the area by cultivating the soil to a depth of 6–8 mm, breaking down clods and removing rocks, sticks, and weeds. Level the soil evenly, filling any hollows and flattening raised areas. For best results, ensure soil pH is between 6.0 and 7.0. If soil is acidic, apply lime prior to sowing.

Spread the lawn seed evenly in two directions (north–south and east–west) to ensure uniform coverage. Lightly rake the seed into the soil surface.

Water gently using a fine spray and keep the soil consistently moist during germination. Avoid over-watering or allowing the soil to dry out. Continue watering until grass reaches approximately 8–10 cm in height.

Keep the area free from foot traffic during establishment. The first mow should be carried out when grass reaches around 10 cm, removing no more than one-third of the grass height at any time.

For ongoing lawn health, apply a suitable lawn fertiliser during the growing season.
