Description
Olea europaea Bambalina is a compact dwarf olive variety prized for its tight habit, dense grey green foliage and exceptional versatility in small gardens and formal landscapes. Growing 2-4m tall and wide, it responds extremely well to pruning, making it ideal for hedges, topiary, espaliers and container displays. With high drought, wind and coastal tolerance and minimal fruiting, it is a practical and beautiful option for Mediterranean, coastal and low-maintenance garden designs across Melbourne.

- Soil: Prefers well drained soils. Adaptable to loam, sand and gravel mixes.
- Light: Full sun is essential for dense foliage and strong growth.
- Watering: Low water needs once established. Moderate watering during establishment.

- Maintenance: Responds very well to shaping for hedges, espaliers or topiary.
- Flowering: Bambalina may produce small white olive flowers in spring, similar to other olive trees, but fruit production is usually limited and not the main feature of this cultivar.
