Description

Telopea 'Shady Lady White' is a new and improved selection of hybrid Waratah, bred from Telopea speciosissima and Telopea oreades, that has been specifically selected for its prolific flowering and ease of cultivation. White Waratahs are among the most sought-after and rarely seen of all Australian native flowers, making this variety a genuine standout in any garden or native planting.

Like its siblings in the Shady Lady series, 'White' performs beautifully in semi-shaded positions that would challenge most other Waratahs, opening up a far wider range of Melbourne gardens to this iconic Australian bloom. The large, pure white flower heads appear in Spring and are exceptional as cut flowers, lasting well in a vase and making a dramatic statement in floral arrangements.

Adaptable to virtually any soil type, low maintenance, and bird attracting, 'Shady Lady White' is one of the most versatile and rewarding native shrubs available for Melbourne gardens. It suits native gardens, hedging, containers, and low water landscapes, and pairs beautifully with the crimson, red, pink, and yellow varieties in the Shady Lady range for a spectacular multi-coloured display.
