Carpobrotus rossii, commonly known as Native Pigface, is a hardy Australian coastal  succulent that forms dense mats of fleshy, triangular green leaves. It produces striking magenta flowers from spring through summer, followed by edible fruit that has been traditionally used by Indigenous Australians. This low maintenance plant is highly tolerant of salt, wind, and drought, making it ideal for stabilising sandy soils and enhancing coastal gardens throughout Melbourne.
