Description
Mona Lavender is the Plectranthus that breaks the mould. Unlike its spreading relatives, this PBR-protected cultivar forms a neat, upright shrub with a refined, compact habit that suits both garden beds and containers with equal elegance.
From late summer through autumn, numerous spikes of soft lavender-coloured flowers rise above the foliage in a prolonged and generous display. The ornamental appeal does not stop there, the deep green leaves carry striking dark wine-purple undersides that catch the light and add rich colour contrast throughout the year.
A wonderful solution for shady corners, sheltered patios, entertainment areas, and tropical-style plantings, Mona Lavender thrives in any well-drained position and is highly tolerant of drought and wind once established. Grows to approximately 80cm H x 60cm W.

- Soil: Prefers well-drained soil. Tolerates a wide range of soil types provided drainage is adequate.
- Light: Highly adaptable to any light condition from full sun to deep shade. Best foliage colour and flowering in a bright, sheltered position.
- Watering: Keep moist during dry periods. Drought tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering during the flowering season.
- Fertiliser: Apply an annual slow-release fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth and an extended flowering display.
- Maintenance: Mulch well around the base to retain moisture. Tip prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy shape.
- Flowering: Flowers from late summer through autumn. Numerous upright spikes of soft lavender-coloured blooms appear above the ornamental foliage.
