Santolina chamaecyparissus is a hardy evergreen shrub forming a dense rounded mound of finely textured, aromatic silver foliage. In summer it produces bright yellow button like flowers that add contrast and seasonal interest. Highly drought tolerant and suited to full sun and free draining soils, it is ideal for Mediterranean, coastal and low water landscapes. Its compact form makes it a popular choice for borders, low hedges, rockeries and structured designs.
