• Fertiliser: Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4 to 6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce or cease feeding in autumn and winter when growth slows. Avoid over-fertilising, which can cause leggy growth and may reduce variegation intensity.
• Maintenance: Low maintenance overall. Wipe leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust and keep the variegated foliage looking its best. Monitor for mealybugs, mites, and scale, particularly in the leaf axils and undersides. Repot every 2 to 3 years or when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes.
• Flowering: Flowers are insignificant and rarely produced indoors. This plant is grown entirely for its spectacular variegated foliage with no fragrance.

If the new leaves on your 'Tineke' are emerging with less cream and pink than expected, it is almost always a light issue. Move the plant closer to a bright window, a north or east-facing aspect is ideal in Australian homes.
