Goodenia ovata is a fast-growing Australian native shrub with glossy green foliage and bright yellow flowers in spring. Evergreen, upright in habit, and highly adaptable, it thrives in full sun to semi shade across a wide range of soil types. Drought tolerant, wind hardy, and virtually pest free, it is a dependable choice for coastal gardens, native plantings, embankments, and mass planting schemes.

Best kept tidy with regular hard pruning, Goodenia ovata is commonly used as a filler plant while slower-growing species establish. It grows to 1 to 2m high and spreads 2 to 4m wide, making it equally effective as a groundcover or erosion control plant. A prostrate form is also available for lower-growing applications.
