Description

Agave attenuata, widely known as Foxtail Agave, is a highly sought-after rosette-forming succulent distinguished by its smooth, spineless, fleshy leaves and elegant arching form. Unlike many agave species, its leaves have no sharp spines, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas, modern gardens and family-friendly outdoor spaces.

It takes several years to produce its dramatic foxtail-like flower spike, after which the main rosette dies back, leaving multiple new 'pups' that continue the plant's growth cycle. With excellent drought tolerance, low maintenance needs and architectural presence, this species is a favourite for contemporary Australian landscapes.

Key Features:

  • Smooth, spineless foliage making it safer for paths, courtyards and family-friendly garden zones.
  • Architectural rosette shape delivering instant sculptural impact in modern landscapes.
  • Excellent drought tolerance, thriving with minimal water once established.
  • Ideal for pots, rockeries, tropical gardens and coastal conditions.
  • Forms multiple pups, allowing easy propagation and natural clump formation.
